The first piece has beautiful symmetry, colors, and form. I think the background could have a minimal galaxy look, but nothing to bold that takes away from the subject. On the second piece , the background effectively makes your subject glow. Are considering adding eyebrows?
Of the two I think the top one is more successful because of the compositional symmetry mentioned by your classmates above. The second one has an ambitious design, but I get stuck at the middle of the face. I understand what you are trying to do, but I think you could pull some of the lighter values in to the section below the eyes. . . it looks like it is unfinished versus missing the nose/mouth.
I love the bright colors you encorporated into these pieces, and the correlation to the galaxy-esque tones and the color of the subjects eyes in the secont painting. (I still wish you'd painted natural hair on the second one)
Love the use of color on both. They’re vibrant.
ReplyDeleteI love the symmetry and colors in the first piece and the background in the second piece is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love how symmetrical the first painting is, and how you showed all of her curves while keeping it simple.
ReplyDeleteI love how you draw black women. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI love your pieces. The colors really stand out against the backgrounds and I really like your concentration with the solar system
