Cultural Appropriation

So we're going to learn about Cultural Appropriation

Definition: The adoption or use of elements of one culture by members of a different culture. This exploitation strips minority culture of intellectual property rights and of group identity.  

Now,  You can be of any race to do this.  Beauty "Gurus" putting on Niqabs to show off makeup, or a black person acting as someone of the Hindu religion, wearing traditional clothing and drawing on henna for "STYLE". White people attempting to wear Afros and Bantu Knots.  It's degrading.  Now, people often mix up Appropriation with ApprECIATion.  Appreciation, is learning about the culture and trying to experience it for KNOWLEDGE and UNDERSTANDING.
