Artist Statement: Going along with my concentration, this piece was was created with that theme in mind. My largest struggle with this was finding what color planets would compliment the pink background. I may go in and completely change the color scheme.

I'm thinking about adding more to this piece. As of now however, it is finished. I am thinking about adding some water color. I didn't have a muse for this piece was more a free hand kind of thing.

Concentration Statement

   For my concentration I want to focus on the universe and try to incorporate the idea of black women. I am trying to capture black women and embody their power through showing them as beings of the universe. Through my past practice with oil paint, that will be my main media.

This Technique was very interesting to me. Unlike most paintings, this took a few more steps. The most challenging thing was trying to wash off the ink while keeping the colors bright.  I love how it turned out in the end.
